Do I need to be a non-profit to apply for the N7 Fund grants?

Yes, in order for CAFAmerica to disburse grant dollars to your organization on behalf of the N7 Fund, you need to be registered (i) with the Canada Revenue Agency as a charitable non-profit organization or (ii) with the U.S. Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

When is the next grant cycle open?

The next grant application cycle opens on September 5, 2018.

When will the grant application be due?

The grant application deadline will be Wednesday, October 17, 2018 by 5pm Pacific Time.

Does the N7 Fund grant need to be utilized within a year from the award date?

Yes, the N7 Fund grant would need to be used within the award year.

If our organization/community applied and received a grant, can we apply again?

If your organization/community received a grant within the last year, you can re-apply in 2020.

Who is CAF America?

CAF America is the Charities Aid Foundation of America, a U.S. 501(c)3 non-profit organization that partners with the N7 Fund to administer the disbursement of grant dollars.

Can I apply for an N7 Fund for my sporting event?

The N7 Fund supports organizations that provide ongoing sport and physical activity programming for Native American and Aboriginal youth that can be measured over time, versus one-time events.

Does the N7 Fund support teams or individual athletes?

The focus of the N7 Fund is to support organizations that provide ongoing sport and physical activity programming to Native American and Aboriginal youth.

Can schools apply for the N7 Fund?

Yes, the N7 fund is committed to serving Native American and Aboriginal youth, if your school is on tribal lands, you are eligible to apply.

Our programming includes adults and elders; can our funding application budget include them?

The N7 Fund is for high school age and younger.  Age 18 years is the max age that is eligible to receive funding.

Do I need to provide a report to the N7 Fund if I receive a grant?

Yes, we would like to use the report details to provide insight on the number of youth that were impacted by our N7 Fund.
